Week #2

This week we explored Google Applications. More specifically we...
  • Created a presentation in Google Docs
  • Created a technology in the high school survey using the "forms" app in Google Docs
  • Shared and edited docs with one another (we created a collaboartive limerick)

We also learned about Interactive Response Systems (a.k.a "clickers") and how this tool can be used in the classroom to create a more dynamic and participatory learning environment

Week #3
- Discussion of articles
- google docs - translating program - present and developing challenge to french teachers b/c it is a high quality translator
Wiki discussion
-using only legal images and document the source
-shorter comments on wiki in future - use bullets - even in reflection
-incorporating outside sources (videos, etc) that show we are expanding our technological repertoire outside of just the course content
-personalised intro about you - name and pic of you with your family - brief para about me
-checking grammar and spelling
-reorganize wiki pages into week by week with all categories in the one week
-needs to see an evolution in your thinking - how this course is changing you as a teacher
-Add in to intro section a blurb about what the course is about
-Need to throw in some YouTube Videos
-Absolutely need to source pics - even getty images
-reading for week 3 not that great - try to find another reading by WIll Richardson
-flickr or google advanced search - look under creative comedy to find free and legal images
-likes lots of pics - cartoony ones too

Podcasting
-crucial part of podcasting is the preparation
-i.e. get them to pick their music selections in advance/images - remember that they need to be legal
-only need 2-3 days in the lab to complete the podcast
